NoomReviews.com answers two questions for parents: which one to buy for your child, and what size to get. We cover youth sports and outdoor equipment — bats, golf clubs, bikes, skis, snowboards, helmets, gloves — and kids apparel and footwear. Size charts are the core of the site; buying guides and product comparisons support them.

Sizing kids gear is genuinely confusing. A 9-year-old is not one size — bat length goes by height and weight, golf clubs go by wrist-to-floor, bike frames go by inseam, and clothing sizes drift between brands by a full size or more. Most charts online copy one manufacturer and stop there. We do the cross-checking instead.

How we build a size chart

Every chart on this site is built the same way:

1. Pull the official sizing from each major brand in that category — not one, all of the ones parents actually buy.
2. Check it against the governing body rule where one exists: Little League and USA Baseball (USABat) for bats, the USGA and US Kids Golf for clubs, ASTM F1447 for bike helmets, NOCSAE for football helmets, US Coast Guard type ratings for life jackets, ISO 11088 for ski binding settings.
3. Publish the range, not a single number. When brands disagree — and they disagree often — we show the spread and say so, rather than picking one and hiding the conflict.
4. Date it. Each chart carries the date it was last verified and the sources behind it. Sizing standards change; undated charts age badly.
5. Write out the measurement. Where a number has to be taken at home, the steps are spelled out so you can do it with a tape measure and a doorframe.

What we don’t do

Being clear about this matters more than sounding impressive:

• We are not a testing lab. We do not run destructive or performance testing on equipment, and we do not claim hands-on trials we haven’t done. Our work is sourcing, cross-checking and explaining published specifications.
• We are not a substitute for a professional fitting. For helmets, protective gear and anything safety-rated, a chart gets you close — an in-person fit check is what gets you right.
